The 4-phase stepper motor moves 18° per step is controlled by a microprocessor. If the unit generates 15 Hz pulses, determine how long it takes to turn the motor shaft 4 revolutions CW followed by 3 revolutions CCW followed by 2 revolutions CW (in full steps).

(Answer provieded was 12 sec)

Can you please explain in detail steps how to answer this problem...thank you in advance.

Solution

Speed of motor is Bf / 360   ,

Where B = Step angle .

= 18 * 15 / 360 = 0.75 rps

0.75 revolution per sec

for 1 revolution it will take   1/ 0.75 second   = 1.3333333

4 CW + 3CCW + 2 CW = 9 Revolution

Time taken to comlete 9 revolution =   1.33 * 9 = 11.9999 Sec    == 12 sec
