a. This equation is nonlinear because the variable \"x\" is multiplied by itself. There is an exponent that isn\'t 1
b. This equation is linear because all the exponent of \"x\" are 1 and you never multply the variable by itself in order to solve the equation.
c. This equation is linear because all the exponent of \"x\" are 1 and you never multply the variable by itself in order to solve the equation.
d. To eliminate the denominator you have to multiply every part times \"x+3\". So, when you do this, you multiply the variable by itself. There is an exponent which is 2. The equation is nonlinear.
