Biofilms are basically formed by microorgansisms which replicate themselves by cell division and accumalation of whatever substances are present and available during this process. All the above mentioned options are part of a cell structure. Thus it so happens that all of them can be incorporated into the biofilm. Typically polysaccharides are produced by bacteria to build the biofilm. However any other particle available in the environment can also be incorporated.
