In the figure at the right the measure of 1 is 9 degree less

In the figure at the right, the measure of 1 is 9 degree less than half the measure of 2. Find the measure of 1 and 2.

Solution

Statment : Angle 1 = (Angle 2)/2 - 9 deg

Angle 1 +Angle2 = 180 deg ( Its straight line) -----(1)

So, substituting Angle1 in terms of Angle2 in equation 1:

(Angle2)/2 -9 + Angle 2 = 180

(3/2)*Angle2 = 189

Angle2 = 2*189/3 = 2*63 = 126 deg

Angle1 = 126/2 -9 = 63 -9 = 54 deg

Angle1 =
