Find the equation for the line in slope intercept form passi

Find the equation for the line (in slope intercept form) passing through the point (-3,-4) and perpendicular to the line whose equation is 2x+y+1=0

Solution

Slope of line 2x+y+1=0 is -2.

Hence slope of line perpendicular to it will be 0.5

Hence the eqaution of line is (y+4) = 0.5(x+3)

y + 4 = 0.5x +1.5

y = 0.5x -2.5 in the slope intecept form.
