Answer the following questions pleaseSolutionWE have 6 singl
Answer the following questions please
Solution
WE have 6 single, 4 dating and 2 engaged women.
P ( Single being called first) = 6 / 12
b)
This part of the question is sampling without replacement
P(Engaged friend) = 2/12
NOw there are 11 friends left and we need to call 1 single friend out of 6
P(single ) =6/11
So, combied probability = (2/12) * (6/11)
= 12 / 132 or 1/11 whichever answer is accepted over there.
Note: We multiply directly as the events are independent.
Hope this helps. Ask if you have any doubts.
Note: As per chegg policies, I am only supposed to solve the first question on the list unless specifically asked otherwise. However, I wish to help you out with your next answer as well. May be these links will help you understand a bit better.
