The measured value of resistance in my experiment of the shunt field is 89.286 ohms.

The question in regards to my measurements is:

If the shunt field windings are composed of #34 AWG copper wire, and each turn is
approximately 12 inches long, how many turns of wire are there on the shunt field of your
machine?

From the wire gauge table for copper wire: awg gauge=34,feet per ohm=3.8,

Solution

For #34AWG Copper wire ,feet per ohm=3.8

Then ohm per feet for #34AWG Copper wire is=0.2609ohm

Since 1feet=12 inches

Resistance for 12 inches=0.2609 ohms

Since,given each turn = 12 inches

Resistance of each turn is=0.2609 ohm

Then no of turns required=(89.286)/(0.2609)=342.22

So No of turns present in shunt field winding is 342

The measured value of resistance in my experiment of the shunt field is 89.286 ohms. The question in regards to my measurements is: If the shunt field windings
