Angular and liner Speeds A DVD is approximately 12 centimete

Angular and liner Speeds A DVD is approximately 12 centimeter in diameter. The drive motor of the DVD player rotates between 200 and 500 revolutions per minute. depending on what track is being read. Find an interval for the angular speed of the DVD as it rotates. Find an interval for the liner speed of a point on the outermost track as the DVD rotates.

Solution

diameter = 12 cm

rotate between 200 and 500 rev / minute

a) angular speed = 2pi* revolutions

therefore, interval is 200*2pi to 500*2pi

angular speed interval is

400pi to 1000 pi radians / minute

linear speed = angular speed * radius

interval of linear speed = 400pi*6 to 1000pi*6

= 2400pi cm / minute to 6000pi cm/minute

linear speed of point on outermost track is 6000pi cm/minute

 Angular and liner Speeds A DVD is approximately 12 centimeter in diameter. The drive motor of the DVD player rotates between 200 and 500 revolutions per minute
