Machine design Q2 Three bearing options are available a Ball

Three bearing options are available: a Ball bearing, a needle Roller Bearing, and a single row convex spherical ball bearing. The load on the system is moderate. The extent of load unbalancement and shaft alignment is not severe. Which bearing type would you recommend and why?

Solution

In my opinion i suggest the a single row convex spherical ball bearing because at very high speed it can adjust itself to angular misalignment also it can take high radial and thrust loads .

Needler roller bearing are also good but only reason you wouldn\'t select is it can take less load then convex spherical ball bearing.

Ball bearing take load at low speed .
