In this project, your teams are consulting companies advising corporations on the substance and public perception of their corporate social responsibility efforts. Teams should choose a global corporation from the list of choices your professor provides and report on the corporation\'s efforts and results in the areas of corporate social responsibility. The team\'s report should address the following:

1. Does the company have a stated policy on corporate social responsibility?

2. What is the company doing to be socially responsible?

3. Evaluate the company\'s CSR efforts. What can the company do to improve its corporate social responsibility behavior and/or reputation?   As a consulting company, make sure that you make specific recommendations.

Each team should prepare its analysis in a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 10 slides (not counting title page and reference page).    Along with your Power Point presentation, you should include a 10 double-spaced page script of what you will say while each slide is displayed. You should key your script to the slides. Please do not use any animation, video, sound, or fade-ins or outs in your Power Point.

1. The company that i select is Unilever. Yes, the company has a stated policy on corporate social responsibility.

2. Unilever is lloking to expand its business on a global scale, while reducing its impact on the environment. The company is reduing the carbon footprint in all its activities. It is seeing to it that all activities are envrironmental friendly and are sustainable over the long term.

The company is also looking at improving health, nutrition and hygiene, with a target to help more than a billion people take action to improve their health and well-being.

3. Evaluation of CSR efforts of Unilever - the company is a thought leader when it comes to implementing CSR policies on ground.

The company has formulated a plan which it calls Sustainable Living Plan. Under this plan the company is ensuring that its operations are making a positive impact on the society at large. It creates brands that can make a difference in the lives of people. The company focuses on sustainable agriculture by helping the farmers worldwide as they source materials like soyabeans, vanilla beans, cocoa etc. from these farmers.

The company also works in areas like elimination of deforestation, improving food security, improving health and well being.

Unilever can improve its already good reputation by involving all the stakeholders in its CSR initiatives. This will make its CSR activities more visible and tangible to people. For example by implementing fairness in workplace it is involving its employees, by initiating women empowerment by creating opportunities for woman in Asian countries, it is involving its female customers, by developing an inclusive business it is involving its vendors and suppliers.

Doing this on a sustainable basis will improve and enhance its reputation.
