Consider ABC and ABD in the figure shown. By the reason Identity, ZAZA and ABAB. (a) If BC BD can you prove that ABC ABD? (b) If yes in part (a), by what reason are the triangles 5. congruent?

Solution

No it can not be proved that triangles are congruent.

Triangles will be congruent if corresponding sides of both triangles are of equal length which is not possible in given figure because one triangle is embeded in other triangle hence corresponding sides of bigger triangle ABD can not be equal to triangle ABC.
