To eat vitamines or to take supplements is not always better. Sometimes it may be better. For example according to recent research it has been observed if an older women takes calcium through supplement then there is high risk of kidney stone and strokes. An another example, it has been observed from research that people getting vitamin A and carotene through supplements have higher risk of death compared to those who did not. It is generally best to take vitamines through natural food. While some people (older people- 20 to 30 %) dont properly digest and absorb natural vitamin B-12 from foods. therefore older peoples (over the age of 50) are suggested to take vitamin B-12 through supplement. Folic acid absorbs fast and in higher amount through supplement in comparision to natural foods thatswhy pragnent women are suggested to take folic acid tablets.
After above discussion it can be concluded that eating vitamines or supplements is not always better. sometimes it may be better, depends on the condition and requirement of consumer.
