In 14 15 16 circle the single best answer A filter with best

In 14, 15, 16 circle the single best answer. A filter with best waveshape is needed for oscilloscope use. What single type of filter should be used? (Butterworth)(Chebyshev) (Bessel) (Elliptical). A filter is to remove a single 1370 Hz noise voltage from signal ranging from 300 Hz to 10 kHz. What single type of filter should be used? (lowpass) (highpass) (wide bandpass) (wide bandstop) (narrow bandstop) (wide band bandpass) (narrow bandpass). A filter is to remove both 60 Hz and 27 kHz from signal ranging from 300 Hz to 10 kHz. What single type of filter should be used? (lowpass) (highpass)(wide band bandreject) (wide band reject) (narrow bandpass) (notch).

Solution

14. Bessel filter

In Butterworth filter maximum flat response in pass band and some phase distorton, but in chebyshev it allows ripples in pass band but sharper transtition band compared to Butterworth filter.but in these two filters, the output waveform will have ringing and overshoot... but in Bessel filter,we didn\'t find any ringing and overshoot.it will gives a clear waveform in a oscilloscope.

In elliptical filter will also have ripples in passband and stopband of amplitude response

15. Narrow band stop filter..

Why iam selecting narrow band stop filter means ...the filter name itself says stop a narrow frequency and that too we have our question is to remove the particular frequency(1370hz) in a required frequencies range i.e;(300hz to 10khz)

16. Wide band reject

Given signal ranging is from 300hz to 10khz and we have an required filter is to remove 60hz and 27khz that why, we are using band reject filter.this is used to reject frequencies that too at very low and high frequencies and thats why we selected a wide band reject
