b) If the customer expects to operate this appliance over a 10-yr period, which motor would he/she prefer in order to reduce replacement cost? Support your answer. (Remember the appliance is under warranty the first year)

a] for 2/3rd time T=365*24*2/3=5840 hours

So it best to prefer motor B

b] For long time period, it is best to prefer motor A

As T=10*365*24=87600 hours and hazards must be avoided
