How do you find a prokaryotic gene How do you find a prokar
Solution
A gene structure comprises mainly three parts like promoter region, coding region and terminator region. A prokaryotic gene structure is littile bit different and simpler than eukaryotic gene. The prokaryotic genes have specific and relatively well understood promoter sequences like Pribnow box and transcription factor binding sites. The coding or transcribing region in prokaryotics consist of only exons, while eukaryotic gene consist of exon and intron. Hence the prokaryotic genes are intronless. The DNA element which regulate genes, are located very close to the gene in prokaryotes while in eukaryotes it is very far from the gene. Prokaryotic gene produces polycistronic RNAs while eukaryotic gene produces monocistronic RNAs. Hence by considering these all facts one can finds prokaryotic genes in a DNA sequence.
