Part 2: If Farrah answers yes to C and D, how would YOU DESCRIBE the physical appearance of the spot?
Part 3: Farrah\'s friend told her that if her answer was no to the questions that were asked by the ABCD rule, she had nothing to worry about. Using the patients history (as presented), would you advise her to ignore the spot if her

Solution
q.1.
part 1: the ABCDE rule is given by the american cancer society and they recommend that people who frequently spen time under the sun should look out for signs of skin cancer in form of spots on skin:
A stands for assymetry of the spots means that the sides don\'t match
B stands for border irregularities means that the edges are not smooth
C stands for color it means it has many colors
D stands for diamter, means that spot is larger than 6mm.
E stands for elevation means that the spot is not continuous with the skin level.
part 2: if the answer is yes to C and D then it means that the spot is very large in diamter almost the size of a pencil eraser and has different colors.
part 3 : Even if the answers to the questions are negative, Farrah should not avoid the examination by a medical professional. Sometimes things might go unnoticed by the eyes but only certain proof which we can use could be given by the medical tests. Given Farrah\'s history of spending time in the sun without sun protection and also visiting tanning beds without protection has exposed her to the harmful UVA and UVB rays which could lead to the development of skin cancer. She should also not avoid the spot because, melanoma skin cancer appears spontaneously and spread rapidly, starting from a mole.
