Asthma is a respiratory disease associated with the long-term inflammation of respiratory tract. The disease is characterized by recurring bronchospasm and airflow obstruction. The asthma episode may recur few times in a day or in a week. Each episode involves symptoms like wheezing, coughing, tightness in the chest and difficulty in breathing. Prevention and Management: Asthma can be prevented by avoiding exposure of the child to smoking both in utero and after delivery. Early exposure to the pets helps because immunity of the body becomes unresponsive to the animal fur. Maintaining hygiene and avoiding exposure to allergens and organic chemicals can successfully prevent the onset of Asthma.
