in self managed teams the team members will exchange the roles frequently and they becomes masters in the team activities. each player will play different roles in his tenure and becomes good player in each task related to his total team. there will be good co-ordination and co-operation exists among the team members. the self-management team is independent, the team members are interdependent. The team is self-regulating, operating with few external controls. Team members determine schedules, procedures and the need to make adjustments. Self-management teams are used in different work environments, including manufacturing, service industries, professional services and virtual environments.
the self managed teams can be starts to resolve the specific problems, they can be formed based on the need of a particular task. there are no specific methods to form these teams. whenever a problem encountered in an organisation, the management will call one official and explain the issue and ask them to resolve it. the team members may or may not inside people of the organisation, some times they comes from outside also.
the team effectiveness is measuring on the basis, how far they achieved the targets or goals set by some else or organisation.
