Find the indicated IQ score The graph to the right depicts I
Find the indicated IQ score. The graph to the right depicts IQ scores of adults, and those scores are normally distributed with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15. (Round answer to one decimal place as needed)
 Solution
Mean ( u ) = 100
 Standard Deviation ( sd )=15
 Normal Distribution = Z= X- u / sd ~ N(0,1)

 P ( Z > x ) = 0.8
 Value of z to the cumulative probability of 0.8 from normal table is -0.84
 P( x-u/ (s.d) > x - 100/15) = 0.8
 That is, ( x - 100/15) = -0.84
 --> x = -0.84 * 15+100 = 87.4
