Im not sure how to find the production rate for problem 312

I\'m not sure how to find the production rate for problem 3.12 p69 for automation production systems, and computer-intergrated manufacturing.

Production rate for automation production systems  given below formula:

Tc = t o +t wh  +  t th

Tc= operational cycle time, (expressed in minutes /  part)

To= time of actual processing (expressed in minutes / part)

T wh =Work piece handling time(expressed in minutes / part)

T th=tool handling time

Note:

Actual Processing time  and work piece handling time occur for each part processed.   The tool handling time  not occur for each part, This tool process up to 100 parts before that we have change it.

Process manufacturing systems the time ,to process a batch of parts is calculated and the converted in to average production time.

Tb=t su + Q tc

Tb = batch processing time expressed in minutes

T su = Time to set up machine to produce batch expressed in minutes

T c = Operational cycle time per part expressed in minutes

Q= Number of parts in batch expressed in parts

For calculating  Average production = t p = t b / Q

T p=Average production time expressed in minutes

Q= Number of parts in batch (parts)

Or

Average production rate  for a process can be determined:

R p =1 / t p

R p = Average production Rate (parts/ min)

T p = Average production time (parts /min)

The same should be asked for quantity manufacturing system(parts /min)

R pq =1/ tc

R pq = Average production rate for a quantity manufacturing systems expressed in minutes per parts.

T c=  operational cycle time  expressed in minutes per parts.

Annual manufacturing part cost =  MT + ST / BS * MR *  P

MT =Machining time per part

ST= Set up time

BS = Batch Size

MR= Machine Rate

DL =  Shop labor Rate
