Premilinary steps to adopt cloud based services (and for that matter any service) first include assesment and the second one would be planning.First we need to asses the opportunities of this service/technology in market and growth we can get to the organisation out of this.Then we need to look at deployment challenges,how we could implement this service.Then we need to jot down what could be the sucess rate, what could be the failure rate ,riskand challenges.Then we need to identify who all are the vendors for this service and which one provide the best service. Planning could involve identifying the infrastructure changes and calculations to implement the server changes, storage etc. Then plan to deploy the architecture which will serve the application.
