Abstract :It is from relevent research that evidence-based practice depends. In order to understand the state of the empirical evidence, relevant studies as well as proper result is needed.
The term Meta-analysis is unfamiliar to many people, hence often uncritically accepted. In this article,I critique a metaanalysis on Same Day Discharge versus Overnight Stay in the Hospital following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with Stable Coronary Artery Disease.
The abstract clearly states the basic aim of the research and how the study is being carried out to find the exact signoficance of this meta-analysis.The negative outcome of the result is also briefly mentioned.

Introduction and Method :Systematic reviews and meta-analysis can provide comprehensive, accurate, and useful summaries of empirical research on a wide range of topics which includes accuracy of diagnostic tests, effectiveness of treatments.
Just like the survey researchers are concerned with sampling, measurement, and data collection, so also, the validity of a meta-analysis depends on a series of decisions that are made during the review process.
In this article, the authors reported the use of The National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE/PubMed), the Cochrane Registry of Randomized Controlled Trials and the EMBASE databases for English language publications based on the comparison between same-day discharge versus overnight hospital stay following PCI.
Reference lists of publications which were expected to be highly qualified for this analysis, and meta-analyses obtained during this search process were also checked for relevant trials.
Statistical analysis was carried out using RevMan software (version 5.3) to analysis data using odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI).

A few characteristics that showed it to be a proper meta-analysis are as follows:
1.A proper design of research is provided.
2.Inclusion criteria is established before the conduct of the review.
3.Study selection and data extraction was conducted by at least two independent reviewers.
4. A comprehensive literature search was performed.
5. A list of included and excluded studies was provided.
6.Characteristics of included studies was described.
7. Scientific quality of included studies was used appropriately in formulating conclusions.
8.Appropriate methods was used to combine the findings of studies.
