Solution

There are two popular theories about dog domestication:

As per the Belyaev story, early humans tried to adopt the young wolves for their hunting work, these were tamed and then bred with each other, over many generations, the domestic dog has emerged.

The second theory says that as dogs want to eat the lot of tasty trash around human encampments, they came and became friendly with humans, so that they can have easy access to leftover food, slowly they became closely to humans, over the generations, this gave rise to domestic dog.

These dogs have brought major change in human life, they provided humans a close-at-hand food source, also provided them physical or non-human muscle power, provided protection to their live stocks and to their homes (1,2). There are many stories which states how dog saved their masters risking their lives. A dog is a good companion for blind people. Herding dogs, sled dogs hunting dogs, sniffer dogs etc are specialized in performing so many skillful tasks(3).

For children it is a trustable companion. When compared to any other domestic animals, dog shows spontaneous ability to follow human gestures and they can respond to their command. It is not difficult to train these animals. Their ability to sense danger, detect different smells, to see in dark, to fight with other predators has put them as a front runner (4).
