If I select a random sample of data for two variables and, after computing the correlation coefficient, conclude that the two variables may have zero correlation, can it be said that there is no relationship between the two variables? Please explain the answer.
Solution
A zero correlation does not mean no crrelation rather it means zero linear relationship. Also, it can be said that the weakest linear relationship is indicated by a correlation coefficient equal to 0.
