Absorption refrigeration cyclesreview sec1110 of the text bo
Absorption refrigeration cycles(review sec.11–10 of the text book) can be combined with cogeneration cycles to create a trigeneration system. This is a cycle that is used to generate electric power and supply heating and cooling all at the same time. These cycles are very efficient and are installed in many places, including university campuses. The figure on the next page shows a trigeneration cycle. For this cycle:
a. Identify the different individual cycles by drawing a circle around (use a blue pen).
b. Identify the cogeneration cycle on the figure by drawing a circle around it(use a red pen).
c. Explain in 2-3 lines the reason for adding the heat exchanger between points 16 and 17.
d. If the cycle were to be used as a cogeneration cycle, identify the point on the cycle which would provide the hot water.
e. Identify the locations in the cycle where power is generated.
f. Identify the location(s) in the cycle where cooling is provided.
Solution
a) diffrent cycles are first from 1 to 5 then from the cycle with green coloured and another one from including 7 8 9 10 11 14 15
b)cogenerator cycle is the green cycle
c) as we saw fluid from 16 is from hot side and from 17 to generator so providing heat exchanger will improve its efficiency on generator producing more power
d) unable to understand questiion its not clear.sorry
e) generally turbine produce power so at the end of turbne it will generate power and also at the end of generator
f)from 37 to 39 and between 2 to 3
