List the 4 major types of tissues of the human body II CT ha
Solution
Four primary tissues interweave to form the fabric of the body. These are:
Connective tissue - support
Nervous tissue- control
Epithelial tissue - covering
Muscular tissue - movement
Study of tissues is known as Histology.
Tissues can be defined as group of similar cells that have the same origin and work together to carry out a specific function.
Four types of tissues are:
1.Epithelial tissues:
2.Connective tissue:
3.Muscular tissues:
4.Nervous tissues:
Name based on origin including location and function.
All 8 types of epithelial tissues are:
Avascular means lack of blood vessels.
II.CT has four classification:
1.Loose connective tissue includes loose areolar connective tissues (located beneath most layers of epithelium,in the membrane throughout the body, beneath skin and between muscles), adipose tissue (adipocytes are cells that store fat.located beneath the skin, around the kidneys, behind the eyeballs, and on the surface of heart;functions to protect, insulate and store fat );Reticular connective tissue(composed of reticular fibres, supports the wall of the liver, spleen and lymphatic organs) and dense connective tissue(composed of many closely packed, thick, collagenous fibres,a fine network of elastic fibres, and a few cells most of which are fibroblasts.Subclasses are dense regular connective tissue(binds body parts together as parts of tendon and ligaments) and dense irregular connective tissue (located in the dermis).
