Device A shown in Figure P2 96 has v 2i a Solve for v with

Device A shown in Figure P2. 96 has v = 2i^. a. Solve for v with the 2-A source active the 1-A source zeroed, b. Solve for v with t l¯A source active and the 2-A source zer c. Solve for v with both sources active, doesn\'t superposition apply?

Solution

when 2A is open circuited V= 2*1^3 = 2V

when 1A is opened => V= 2*2^3 = 16V

when both the sources are active => i =2+1 =3A

=> V= 2*3^3 =54V

since the device gets the cube of actual current flowing in the circuit i.e the device includes some active elements where superposition cant be applied..

superposition can be applied for passive elements in the place of the device A..passive elements cannot square or cube the actual voltages and currents in the circuit

 Device A shown in Figure P2. 96 has v = 2i^. a. Solve for v with the 2-A source active the 1-A source zeroed, b. Solve for v with t l¯A source active and the 2
