Resultant couple acting on the above beam is the algebraic sum of couples due to

i) 200 lb force acting on either side of beam at a perpendicular distance of 1.5 ft

ii) Force \'F\' horizontal component acting 30 degrees horizontal at a perpendicular distance of 1.25 ft

Given F = 128 lb

F cos 30 = 128 cos 30 = 25.98 lb

Therefore total moment = (200 x 1.5) + (25.98 x 1.25) (Both producing an Anti-clockwise moment)
