2. There are ten different types of flowers: roses. tulips, etc. How many different bunches of five flowers can we form if (a) we can use the same type of flowers more than once? (b) all the flowers in a bunch should be different? What is the probability that a randomly formed bunch of flowers contains roses in (a) and (b)?

Solution

a)

we can use the same type of flowers could be 10^5 as the reason each position can be filled any one of the 10 diffrent flowers i.e 10*10*10*10*10 = 100000

b)

All the bunch should be diffrent i.e each position of the flower should never come twice. position can be filled with 10*9*8*7*6 = 30240
