What process could you use to remove the \"red-eye\" from a photo? Explain your algorithm in great detail.
Solution
The red-eye effect occurs when a strong internal flash enters the eye at almost the same angle as the camera lens, strikes the pupil quickly before it can bond to stop the light, and thus bounces back out of the eyes into the camera lens.
There are many ways to prevent red-eye:
Removing Red-eye using Zoner Photo Studio:
In order to correct the red eye, initially open the photo in Zoner Photo Studio editor and turn on the Red Eye Reduction tool. The tool begins in its automatic mode, which does not offer many options, but easy to use. The cursor moves to a crosshairs, for simple target. The red spaces in the eyes are targeted. Two things occur instantly. They are: the red eye is restored and Zoner Photo Studio allows changing settings without starting over.
Tolerance sets how broad a variety of red shades is recognized as red-eye. Generally there is no need to modify this. Use a low Darken value to make softer the result, avoiding unnatural-looking pitch black pixels in the eyes. Blur can lighten the correction at its edges, and degree can extend the area enclosed by the correction. Then observe the eyes before and after our correction. Red-eye occurs only when a subject’s pupils bond gradually, and so photos of children and of people under the control are particularly level to this result. ZPS can fix animal eyes too, just by switching the Red Eye Reduction tool mode to remove white eye and then repeat the process.
