Assume the linear function be S(x)=mx+c.

since at 2007, when x=0, S(x)=0.m+c = 12000 Or, c=12000

At 2012, when x=5 (given x=0 at 2007), S(x) = 58000 = 5m+12000 Or, 5m=46000 Or m =9200
The linear equation is S(x) = 9200x+12000

S(x) = 9200x+12000
