Design a parallel RLC circuit to have a resonant frequency around 4.1 kHz. In this ease use a150mH inductor. Use a voltage source in series with a 1 0k Ohm as the effective current source. All you need is to choose an appropriate capacitance value.

Solution

fresonant = 4.1kHz

L = 150mH => reactance of inductor Xl= 2*pi*f*L

                      reactance of capacitor XC= 1/(2*pi*f*C)

at resonance Xl=Xc

                  fresonant = 1/(2*pi*sqrt(LC))

                  C = 1/(4*pi^2 * f^2 * L)

                      = 1/(4*pi^2 * 4100^2 * 150*10^-3)

                    C = 10nF
