Solve analytically using the elimination method 2x5y 278 3x4

Solve analytically using the elimination method. .2x-.5y= -27.8 .3x+.4y=68.7

Solution

0.2x- 0.5y= -27.8 ----(1)

0.3x+ 0.4y=68.7 -----(2)

Rewrite equation 1 and 2:

multiply bothequations by 10:

2x-5y = -278 -----(1)

3x +4y = 687 -----(2)

Multiply equation 1 by 3 and equation by 2:

6x -15y = -834

6x +8y = 1374

Subtract the two equations:

-23y = -2208 -----> y =96

Substitute value of y to solve forx : 2x = -278 -5*96

x = 101

Solution :(x, y) ---> ( 101 , 96)

Solve analytically using the elimination method. .2x-.5y= -27.8 .3x+.4y=68.7Solution0.2x- 0.5y= -27.8 ----(1) 0.3x+ 0.4y=68.7 -----(2) Rewrite equation 1 and 2:
