Metal plates made from stainless steels, titanium alloys are used for the bone fracture fixation. Stent and artificial valves made from metal are used in cardiovascular implants. Metals (CoCr - copper-chromium) are also used for making the artificial joints. Biodegradable metals are also used to provide temporary healing support to tissues in certain specific diseases/trauma and progressively degrade thereafter in the body itself.
