atking square root on both sides:

b) sqrt(z+2) -2 = sqrt(z-6)

Taling square of both sides:

z+2 +4 - 4sqrt(z+2) = z-6

z +6 -4sqrt(z+2) = z-6

12 = 4sqrt(z+2)

3 = sqrt(z+2)

taking square of both sides:

9 = z+2

z = 7
