Solution

During most forms of exercise, the cardiac output tends to increase somewhat more than the total peripheral resistance decreases, so that mean arterial pressure ususally increases slightly. The cardiac output increase during exercise is caused by a combination of greater symphathetic activity and less parasymphathetic activity to the heart. The increases in heart rate are usually much greater than those of stroke volume.
