Solution

x/6 = -3y/4 -1/3

Multiply the equation by 24:

4x + 18y = -8 ----(1)

-x/3 = 1/6 - 3y/4

Multiply the equation by24

-8x +18y = 4 ----(2)

Multiply equation 2:

8x +36y =- 16

-8x +18y = 4

54y = -12

y = -12/54 = -4/18 = -2/9

Substitue value of y in equation :4x + 18y = -8

we get x=-1
