You are reviewing disk management basics with a new technician in your department and are currently discussing dynamic disks. Of the following, what do you say is true about dynamic disks?
A. Dynamic disk space is allocated in partitions.
B. The number of volumes in a dynamic disk is limited to four.
C. A volume can extend to include the available space on any hard disk on the computer.
D. Dynamic disk usage began in Windows XP.
Solution
Please follow the data and description :
Dynamic Disks :
A dynamic disk, is a storage device that is divided into volumes instead of partitions. In general a storage types are separate from the file system types, a basic or dynamic disk can contain any combination of FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS partitions or volumes. It is to be noted that Not every Operating System supports the features of the Dynamic disks. These are only supported by Windows XP, Vista Ultimate, Vista Enterprise, Windows 7 and Windows 8. A Windows XP Professional accommodates both basic and dynamic storage. A disk system can contain any combination of storage types. However, all partitions or volumes on the same disk must use the same storage type (Basic or Dynamic).
This is not limited to a partition but could be extended.
So the answer is OPTION D (Dynamic disk usage began in Windows XP).
Hope this is helpful.
