If there are 8 slices to a box of pizza, how many pizzas can you fit in a room that is 100 square foot big and the whole pizza was 18 inches large?

So far I found the area of one slice.

radius = 9\"

Area = 1/2(pie/4)(9)2

= (pie/8)*81

Area of one slice is approximately 31.81 in2.

Do I divide than multiply? Certainly having trouble trying to find a formula that will help piece this math question. Many thanks in advance.

Solution

Area of whole pizza = 31.81 * no of pieces

= 31.81 * 8 = 254.48
