Use a translation rule to describe the translation of X that is 1 units to the left and 6 units up.

A.

T < -1, 6> (x)

B.

T < -1, -6> (x)

C.

T < 1, 6> (x)

D.

T < 1, -6> (x)

Solution

There are two translations happening here .

1. translation of 1 unit to left . Thus if we assume that the initial point is origin then after a translation of 1unit to left the point will reach at (-1,0) or simply -1` on x axis.

2. Translation of 6 units upwards .This means that the point moves 6 unit along the y axis .

Thus the point will now be at (-1,6)

thus after two translation the point will be at cordinates (-1,6) and hence the total translation can be defined by

option A which is T<-1,6>(x)

Use a translation rule to describe the translation of X that is 1 units to the left and 6 units up. A. T < -1, 6> (x) B. T < -1, -6> (x) C. T < 1
