Other than five senses, there are some more senses in humans as described by HMS. Two of them are \"equilibrioception\" and \"nociception\". (1) Equilibrioception is the sense of balancing our body. The main organ for this sense is a vestibular system known as bony labyrinth of inner ear, which is formed of tubes filled with fluid \'endolymph\'. The level of this fluid in the labyrinth changes with posture of the body and therefore determines the balance of the body. (2) Nociception is the sense of pain. This is detected by the sensory nerves by changing in the electric potential at the nerve membranes, and passess as electric signals through nerves and as neurotransmitters at nerve junctions, to the pain centeres in the brain.
