You have a customer who makes extensive use of the Windows Sidebar tool in Windows Vista to dock features such as Calendar, Contacts, and Stocks. He has upgraded his computer to Windows 7 and now can’t find the Sidebar. What do you tell him?

A. The Sidebar is present but hidden. Launch it from the Control Panel.

B. The Windows Vista Sidebar is present in Windows 7 as the Windows Gadget Platform.

C. The Windows Sidebar feature is absent from Windows 7 but can be added for a fee.

D. The Windows Sidebar feature was removed from Windows 7, and there is no replacement feature.

Solution

A and B. Windows 2000 Professional requires a 2 GB hard disk that has 650 MB of free space and additional space if installing over a network. Windows XP Home requires at least 1.5 GB of available space on the hard disk. Keep in mind these are the bare minimum requirements. To use any of these systems under normal, production conditions, you’ll need more hard drive space.
