For the problem below, R_1 = R_2 = 100ohms, C = 10uF. Find the steady-state sinusoidal voltage transfer function for the circuit below. Find the poles and zeros. Is this a high-pass or low pass filter? Find the corner frequency of the filter in Hz. What is the phase angle of the system at the corner frequency? What is the pass-band gain?

Solution

a) Vo(s)/ Vin(S) = s*C*R2/( (R1 + R2)sC + 1)

= 0.001s/( 1 + 0.002s)

b) poles, s= -1/.002= -500

zeroes, s=0

c) it is high pass filter

d) corner frequency = 1/T = 500

e)phase angle at corner frequency = tan-1 (500)

f) pass band gain = f2 - f1 = 1000
