What are \"dominant roots\" in control theory
Solution
Solution :
The slowest roots of a system or the roots which are closest to the imaginary axis in the s-plane
give rise to the longest lasting terms in the transient response of the system.
If a root or set of roots are very slow compared to others in the transfer function,
then they may be dominating in transient response. Such roots are called dominant roots or poles in control systems.
