Birds have the following adaptations for the true flight

1. Body contour : The stream lined body is a spindle shaped or boat shaped , encounttering least resistance and can easily be passed through air.

2. Presence of wings : In birds, the forlimbs are modified into wings helping in flying.

3. Presence of pneumatic bones : The bones of birds are hallow and air filled. They also contain many air cavities which add buoyancy during flight.

4. Presence of single ovary : Presence of single functional ovary of the left side in the female bird also leads to the reduction in the weight which is very essential for flight.

5. Absence of urinary bladder : Birds do not have a urinary bladder which is present to store the urine temporarily in other animals.
