Initial concentration x initial volume = final concentration x final volume

For EDTA:

(0.5M) = 50 (1) (0.001)

                   = 0.05/0.5 = 0.ml

Therefore, 0.1 ml of 0.5M EDTA is required to prepare 1mM EDTA in 50ml.

For Tris:

(0.1) = 50 (10)(0.001)

      = 0.5 / 0.1 = 5ml

Therefore,5 ml of 0.1M Tris is required to prepare 10mM Tris in 50ml.
