You are installing a stick of DRAM into a PC and are having trouble getting the memory module to seat correctly. You have opened the latches on either end of the slot and have tried to shove the stick of DRAM straight down into the slot without success. What could be the problem?
A. You could have the stick oriented incorrectly. Make sure the notch on the bottom of the memory stick is correctly lined up with the memory slot on the motherboard.
B. You could have the stick turned upside down. Check the memory stick and make sure the pins are pointed down toward the memory slot on the motherboard.
C. You probably need to angle the memory stick so that one side of the unit goes into the slot first and then press the other side down into the slot until it seats firmly and completely.
D. You probably need to open the latches on the other memory slots as well, so all of the DRAM sticks are “loose,” insert the new stick until it is firmly in place, and then close the latches on all the memory slots.
