Consider an object moving on a circular path with a radius of 4.5 meters. How many radians are swept out when the object travels 21.15 meters on the circular path? radians How many meters does the object travel when it sweeps out 141 degrees on the circular path? meters If the object sweeps out pi/3 radians on the circular path, how many meters has it traveled? meters Suppose the distance the object traveled on the circular path varied from 4.8 meters to 6.2 meters. How many radians did the object sweep out over this distance? radians

  Solution
a. circumference = 2pi*r=2*3.14*4.5=28.26 m
In 28.26 m it covers 2pi radiand
Therefore in 21.15 m it covers
2pi * 21.15/28.26=1.5pi
b) in 360 degree it covers 28.26m
Therefore in 141degree it covers
141*28.26/360 = 11 m approx
c)2pi radians are swept in 28.26 m
therefore pi/3 radians are swept in 28.26*pi/3*1/2pi= 4.7m
