During the ventricular systole what is happening to the hear
During the ventricular systole, what is happening to the heart muscle, blood in the heart and on an ECG?
Solution
Ventricular systole describes the action in which the left lower chamber or ventricles of the heart contracts. This contraction in the left ventricle pushes the oxygenated blood to the entire body through aorta. And in the right ventricle, it pushes the de-oxygenated blood through the pulmonoery artery to lungs.
On the ECG, the QRS complex, refering to the combination of the Q, R, and S waves, indicates ventricular depolarization and contraction (ventricular systole). The Q and S waves are downward waves while the R wave, an upward wave, is the most prominent feature of an ECG.
