1.Chlorine is one among the top 20 elements abudantly available on the earth. It is present both in earth crust and mostly in sea water. The type of samples mostly contains chlorine are in seawater it is available as mostly in NACl, KCl. On earth crust it is available as halite, or rock salt (NaCl), sylvite (KCl), and camallite (KCl MgCl 2 ).

2. Concentration of any of the elements are mostly measured in the units ppm (parts per million).

3.The accpetable limit of chlorine (as Cl) is 250 mg/l or 250 ppm. In absence of any other soluble source 1000 ppm where as the limit ( Cl2) is 4 ppm. The tests are sensitive enough to measure chlorine content . Using colorimeter devices the quality of the water is measured with that of the stds. this is the most ease way.

4. The avg of the measurments is taken to minimize the difference between initial and final values. The conditions keep changng every instant as the chlorine get diluting in water and also because of the atm conditions the concentration of chlorine may change. So we go for an avg value.
